Development updates: shop changes in October 2026

Several shop changes went live in October 2026. Some of them already have their own articles. This text collects the rest: the changes you see while using the shop.

The PHP security update of Wednesday, 21 October 2026, is its own article. Identity at checkout, phone, support AI, and version 3.0 are in the article from Tuesday, 13 October 2026: From development: identity checks, attacks, AI, and phone.

Each point below says three things: since when it applies, what you notice, and whether you need to do anything. Most of them run on their own.

  • Contact form and registration
  • Account, with a second factor and an identity check
  • Availability on the product card
  • Shipping photo
  • Returns
  • Archived orders
  • Affiliate
  • Reviews

Contact form and registration

Since Saturday, 3 October 2026, the contact form checks that a person is sending the message before it goes out. The check is a reCAPTCHA. It applies when you use the form without being logged in.

You write the message as before. Then you confirm the reCAPTCHA. Only then is the message sent. Without that confirmation, nothing is sent. The text of your message stays as you wrote it. The reCAPTCHA does not read it and does not replace it.

When you register, you also confirm a reCAPTCHA before the account is created. Without that confirmation, no account is created.

Account

Since Sunday, 11 October 2026, you can start two things yourself on My Account.

Second factor

The account shows the link Set up two-factor authentication. From there you create the one-time code in your authenticator app. The link stays in place after the second factor is already set up. You can add another device from there at any time.

At the next login the shop asks for that code. You read it in the app and enter it. That confirms the login is yours. The code is also called an OTP. It is valid only once for a single sign-in attempt, and it changes regularly in the app. A code from an old message or from a photo no longer works after that.

Identity

While your identity has not been verified yet, the account shows the link Verify identity. Our partner carries out the check, not the shop. In the flow you see which steps the partner needs from you. Once the check is done, the hint goes away.

When a check is required, how the score is counted, and which partner runs it, is set out in Identity checks: the rules that apply, the score, and the partner. This text does not repeat the point values.

Availability

Since Sunday, 4 October 2026, a notification is tied to the variant, not only to the product. One example: the 5-pack of a product is not here yet, and the 10-pack is. If you ask to be notified about the 5-pack, the message comes when that 5-pack is available. The 10-pack does not trigger it.

Since Thursday, 22 October 2026, the hints on the product card sit side by side. You see Available Soon or Pre-Order. During a company holiday, Vacation sits beside them, and next to that Create Notification.

Longer labels stay inside the hint. They do not run past the edge of the card. You read the full text on the hint, and the card itself stays readable.

Shipping photo

Since Saturday, 10 October 2026, we photograph a physical parcel during shipping, before the shipping label is created. We take the picture inside the shop software. It is attached to the order, together with the time.

On the shipping photo we see what was placed in your parcel during shipping.

  • The picture stays with the process. We do not look for it later in a loose folder.
  • If there is a question, we look at this photo first, before the shipping label.
  • You do not upload anything for this. You still follow the parcel through the shipment under My Orders.

The photo is our record of packing. It does not replace shipment tracking.

Returns

Since Sunday, 4 October 2026, a return can be submitted only once. The first click creates the request. A second click does not create a second request. The first one remains the valid one.

If something changes after that, for example the reason or a detail of the shipment, write it in a support ticket for the order. Do not send the form again.

Archived orders

Since Monday, 12 October 2026, an archived order shows a notice. The order stays in the list under My Orders. The notice says it was archived because of its age.

If you need more about that order than the page shows, write a support ticket and include the order number.

Affiliate

Since Tuesday, 13 October 2026, Affiliate records customers who arrived through your link. On the page, Referred customers shows that number in a badge.

You find the link on the same page. You copy it from there.

The affiliate program is still in development. It records referred customers. There are no rewards yet. They will follow soon.

Reviews

Until Sunday, 25 October 2026, a review could not be submitted. A bug in the shop kept the form closed, even when you had already ordered the product.

That is fixed. You can review a product on its product page when you have it in at least one completed order. Payment on its own is not enough. Open, in progress, shipped, delivered, or paused leaves the form closed.

On the product page you see the form under the reviews once a completed order for that product exists.

  • You give 1 to 5 stars. A comment is optional.
  • There is one review from you per product. After that you can change the same review, instead of adding a second one.
  • In public, your first name is shown with the initial of your last name.

Our products remain intended solely for scientific, analytical, and laboratory research.
